Project Runway is returning for its 22nd season, with Tyra Banks featured in the official trailer and photo alongside judges Heidi Klum, Law Roach, Nina Garcia, and Christian Siriano, who is the cast’s mentor.
The former America’s Next Top Model host previously appeared on Project Runway as a guest judge in season 21.
Last month, the series unveiled its lineup of 22 designers for its biggest season to date. Season 22 debuts in the evening on July 9 on Freeform and will stream shortly after on Hulu and Disney+, followed by weekly airings.
Guest judges include Ciara, Fausto Puglisi, Ice Spice, Iman, Kiernan Shipka, Niecy Nash, Nina Dobrev, Sergio Hudson, Willy Chavarria and Winnie Harlow.
Cameos from Becca Bloom, The Devil Wears Prada 2 costume designer Molly Rogers, Nara Smith, Nicky Campbell, and Giggly Squad‘s Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo are slated for Project Runway’s 22nd season.
Last week, PEOPLE reported that Tyra filed a lawsuit against Netflix alleging that her portrayal in the ANTM docuseries was defamatory. The Supermodel stated the doc was edited to support a false narrative.
“Tyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series Reality Check: America’s Next Top Model because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show’s legacy—its successes and its shortcomings. There are aspects of the show for which Ms. Banks takes accountability. She wanted ANTM viewers to hear that from her directly.”
Tyra’s lawsuit claims that just 16 minutes of her lengthy interview were used in the docuseries. Clips were “stripped of context and reassembled to support a false and defamatory narrative unrelated to what she actually expressed.” The final edit didn’t include Tyra taking accountability for the most controversial moments in ANTM.
