Lawyer/Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Phaedra Parks, gave her professional POV on Nick Reiner, who murdered his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner.
TMZ caught up with the breakout star from season three of The Traitors US, and got Phaedra’s professional assessment of the case.
In case you missed it:
Nick is charged with two counts of felony murder for allegedly stabbing his parents to death. He could face the death penalty.
His first attorney, Alan Jackson, dropped out of the case, sans a full explanation. He was replaced by public defender Kimberly Greene.
Phaedra offered a plausible explanation for the unexpected switch-up.
Phaedra Parks Esq:
“It’s unfortunate that he has to get a public defender,” began Phaedra, but she reasoned why that happened. “More than likely, the trust [aka, his parents’ estate] was covering his legal fees.”
“I don’t know if there’s a conflict of interest for the victims to pay for the alleged assailant’s defense.”
For the record, Public Defender Greene comes with 19 years of experience. But, public defenders tend to be overloaded with cases, giving her less time to focus on Nick’s case. Phaedra said Nick still deserves a fair trial.
“[Greene] is gonna have to read night and day,” explained Phaedra, “get her witnesses lined up, and try to do the best job she can.”
“It’s going to depend on the experts. A case is only as good as its facts.”
Nick’s next court date is set for February 23rd.
