The term ‘Naked Wasted‘ entered our vernacular on season 4, episode 8 of Real Housewives of Orange County when Tamra Judge declared she was going to get Gretchen Rossi wasted to the point of embarrassing herself.
The drama continued to episode 9, ‘Why Are You Being So Mean To Me?‘
Throughout the episode, the aftermath of ‘Naked Wasted’ night affirmed my thoughts … Tamra Judge conspired with her son, Ryan Vieth, to put Gretchen Rossi in a very dangerous situation.

These are my thoughts and interpretations from what I rewatched as well as the information that audiences have received up through season 19, episode 6, ‘What Voodoo You Do?‘
ICYMI, Tamra told another cast member that Gretchen said Tamra was responsible for giving her Rohypnol, commonly known narcotic known as a ‘roofie’ or ‘the date r*pe drug.’
If this sounds sinister to you, it should.
FYI:
Worth noting, Tamra said that Ryan (in his early 20s) wanted to start bartending. So, Tamra had him bartend a party she hosted in her and Simon Barney’s home to show off what she learned in etiquette class.
Also worth considering, Gretchen’s fiancé, Jeff, was battling cancer. His health was declining rapidly. Gretchen was by his side through his darkest days. This was her first time out of the hospital for a while, minus a trip to Bass Lake, which Tamra shamed her for.
Ryan’s role:
I couldn’t help but notice Ryan, the bartender/Tamra’s son, lurked near Gretchen, even hovering over her, as he fed her tequila shots, as directed by his mom. Tamra didn’t hide her ill intent as she winked and nodded at Ryan in approval.
In a confessional, Lynne Curtain made it clear she wasn’t comfortable with what was happening in front of her and that Gretchen was being overserved.
Additional confessional footage from Jeana Keough proved that Tamra and Ryan were working together to get Gretchen intoxicated. Editors even played B-roll of Jeana pulling shots away from a drunken Gretchen. Ryan replaced the shots immediately afterward making sure Gretchen kept drinking.

No means no:
Eventually, Gretchen left the group to go to the “potty.” Ryan followed her. In true red flag form, Ryan asked for a hug (🚨)! Bravo captioned the following exchange since Gretchen and Ryan were behind a closed bathroom door. “You can’t hug me, and you can’t kiss me, and you can’t make out with me.”
Ryan wanted to know why. Gretchen responded, “Because I’m engaged to a very nice man.” Tamra’s son requested another hug after a clear boundary was set. Gretchen said ‘No,’ but she told Ryan he was cute and that he turns her on.
Again, she made it clear she didn’t want to hook up with Ryan.
Shortly thereafter:
Tamra hosted a pool party for a daytime-nightcap. Gretchen came in with a hangover, but wanted to make sure she was on good terms with all the women. Confessionals revealed Tamra saying Gretchen was jealous of her and that she felt sorry for Gretchen … not for having a dying fiancé, but for being so jealous of her.
Additionally, Tamra told Gretchen to chill with her drinking, despite her being overserved BY HER SON with her instruction.
(This is) MY OPINION:
It doesn’t appear that Rohypnol (roofies) were involved. Date r*pe drugs make victims pass out without memory of what happened. With that in mind, I can’t wrap my head around why this subject matter is being presented so flippantly. Nothing about this is cute or funny.
Even if illegal drugs weren’t involved, the intent to get a person intoxicated to the point of making a fool of themself is problematic and dangerous.
For the record, a lot of ‘No’s’ and variations of the word ‘No’ were used to make it clear that Gretchen wasn’t interested in Ryan. Even if she wanted to hook up, she was so intoxicated that she couldn’t make a rational decision. Considering Ryan was the bartender over-serving Gretchen, we enter a whole new level of ick.
But, I couldn’t help but wonder … how long would production have let this go on before intervening?
Again, from recently re-watching the episodes and with the information RHOC fans have available at this moment, it appears that Tamra worked with her son to make sure Gretchen got ‘naked wasted.’
