Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Lisa Barlow didn’t appreciate how her cast members (specifically Whitney Rose and Bronwyn Newport) spoke so freely about the lawsuits against her behind her back.
In an interview with Page Six, Lisa addressed all of the chatter about her despite her not being on camera at all during the season 6 premiere episode. “I’ve never talked about their businesses; I don’t talk about their marriages; I support them.”
Bronwyn:
Lisa responded to Bronwyn’s accusations about there being multiple lawsuits against her. “Yes, we’ve been sued. Yes, we’ve been in business a very long time. We own multiple businesses. That’s just part of doing business. It’s not a big deal. They all get dismissed.”
She admitted that there was an active lawsuit against her, but she’s confident it will also be dismissed. “I don’t want to say too much. But, [said Lisa with a twinkle in her eye], it’s lack of evidentiary support, maybe.”
“That’s the cost of doing business. We have a lot of lawyers on retainer. There’s a big difference between a civil lawsuit, in which you can allege anything. Sometimes truthful things; sometimes not truthful things. That’s why we have good ones on retainer.”
“It’s really funny to me. Like, this is your ‘BOOM?’ It’s shocking to me [that] this is what you’re talking about.”
Whitney:
Lisa was asked about Whitney’s failed business. She explained that she doesn’t “confide” in Whitney because “I don’t trust her opinion.”
“She made up a lot of stuff about last year about me talking about her business. I think there was a lot of diversion from [discussing] what’s actually happening.”
“Even in the premiere episode, she’s like, ‘Lisa likes to use the word, liar.’ I’m like, ‘If you lie, I will call you a liar. Like, it’s not that complicated.” Lisa brought up the ‘meanest text’ Whitney sent about her from the s5 finale. “If you say my husband is getting jerked off while I make out with other girls, I’m going to call you a liar.”
Looking ahead:
Lisa was careful not to spoil any future plot points on RHOSLC. But, she did drop a hint about how the cast brought up the rumors and nastiness regarding the lawsuits against her.
“There is safety in numbers. I can take on five of them if I need to. I don’t have a problem with it.”
“They say it to my face when they have numbers.”
“It’s really disappointing. I think it’s really gross and hurtful.”
