Actress Leah Remini has begun filming Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but producers have yet to hear a word from The Church of Scientology.
RHOBH sources spilled to TMZ that producers have not heard from the Church of Scientology since Leah joined the Season 16 cast as a full-time Housewife.
They believe the church’s silence is more than likely tied to Leah’s ongoing battle with Scientology. ICYMI, Leah sued the Church and its leader, David Miscavige alleging they carried out a coordinated campaign of stalking, harassment, and retaliation after she left the organization.
The Church of Scientology denied Leah’s claims and deemed the lawsuit “lunacy.”
Leah was a member of the Church of Scientology for more than three decades before leaving in 2013. Word on the street is that there is nothing in Leah’s contract that prevents her from discussing Scientology on camera.
She has remained one of Scientology’s most outspoken critics. Her pivot to reality TV could give viewers a front-row seat if that battle resurfaces.
Her documentary series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, premiered in 2016 on the A&E Network. It ran for 3 seasons for a total of over 30 episodes. Leah’s goal was to expose the controversial practices, alleged abuse, harassment, and psychological trauma experienced by former members.
