Lala Kent opens up about a recent health scare involving her eye—and it’s more serious than she originally thought.
The Vanderpump Rules alum first sparked concern on Mother’s Day when she posted to her Instagram Stories, showing a visible mass on her eye.
She admitted she’d been fixated on the spot, even bringing it up constantly to her family. They encouraged her to see a doctor.
“I originally went to an eye doctor, and he was like, ‘Oh yeah, it just looks like an inflamed pinguecula,’” Lala shared.
“A lot of people wrote in and were saying that same type of thing, or maybe it was allergies.”
But something still didn’t sit right. Trusting her gut, Lala sought a second opinion.
She managed to get a last-minute appointment late one night, which led to a referral to a specialist the very next morning.
Lala found out her eye mass contained precancerous cells.
Following the diagnosis, Lala was prescribed chemotherapy eye drops, which she’ll need to administer once a week for three months, with a three-week break between each cycle.
If the drops don’t successfully eliminate the cells, she may need to undergo surgery.
Despite the scare, Lala is remembering the advice she gives her friends when faced with medical scares — she’ll be okay.
