Kimora Lee Simmons is weighing in on those very headline making age gap romances.
While chatting on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, host Amanda Hirsch asked Kimora how she felt about her youngest daughter Aoki Lee Simmons’ brief 2024 fling with restaurateur Vittorio Assaf.
For context, he was 44 years older than Aoki.
Kimora admitted she found out the same way we all did: when those paparazzi beach photos hit the internet.
“It went from 0 to 100 really quick, and I was like, ‘Aoki, I didn’t even know this was a thing.’ I found out when the world found out.”
She didn’t love the pairing, especially given her own past.
Kimora acknowledged she’s been in a similar dynamic — referencing her relationship with Russell Simmons, whom she met at 17 while he was 35.
“Having gone through not exactly the same but similar — that big age-gap relationship — I do think it’s predatorial.”
ICYMI: Kimora and Russell connected at New York Fashion Week in 1992, began dating after she turned 18, married in 1998, and split in 2006.
Even with her reservations, Kimora says she’s trying to let her kids live and learn — even when it plays out publicly.
“That’s the whole thing we were saying about living out your life in public. I think that’s very, very, very tough.”
