RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s Katya Zamolodchikova shared a health update after a hospital visit drew concern from fans and her fellow drag-testants.
Katya’s journey:
Fans were relieved that Katya announced that she was “out of the hospital” following “emergency abdominal surgery.” ICYMI, this prompted her and Trixie Mattel to postpone their Netflix gig.
“There was a bowel obstruction in my small intestine,” began Katya. “They had to decompress my stomach, flush out my intestines, and remove and reattach a small part of my small and large intestine.”
“I was in the hospital with an NG tube down my nose into stomach pumping fluid up and out of my body for 10 days without being able to eat or drink.” Katya said the experience “was absolute hell on earth.” Thankfully, “the tube is gone,” and she’s feeling better. “I am eating and drinking and am back at home.”
Katya shared gratitude for those who helped her along her journey. “Thanks to the surgical team at Cedars Sinai, especially Dr. Matthew Bloom and Dr. Sydney Caputo, and shoutout to Nurse Audrey for being a baller. Hallelujah.”
Love was sent to everyone’s favorite bisexual Russian gymnast:

- Margaret Cho – “Get well soon, legend. We need you
- Shea Couleé – “So glad to hear that you are doing better. Get well soon!!!”
