The Challenge‘s Johnny Bananas Devenanzio detailed how his relationship with CT Tamburello has – and hasn’t – evolved over the years.
The MTV reality star told PEOPLE that “Some things never change.”
“I really thought [it would] this season. I’ve been able to put my bullsh*t aside with everybody: Wes [Bergmann], Devin [Walker], Jordan [Wiseley], although that is kind of off-and-on.”
“But over the years, it’s like no matter what beef I’ve had in the past, I’m like, ‘All right, there’s going to come a time and point where we’re just going to have to put our differences aside, let bygones be bygones, and do what’s in the best interest for the old vets because there aren’t many of us left.'”
“And the fact that [CT and I are] on the same team — it was just crazy. Going into this season, he actually posted a clip of us on my podcast talking before this season saying, ‘Hey, we got to stick together this season and work together.’”
“He literally reposted it on his IG, and then we get there, and he does the exact opposite, working with the rookies and all this sh*t. CT’s always just going to do what CT does. But that’s who he is. That’s who he’s always been. At least he doesn’t change.”
“There is this push and pull on the Orange team of, ‘We’ve got these two GOATs with CT and Bananas. Who is better for our team? Because there’s going to have to come a time we have to choose one or the other. We’re going to have to back one or the other.’ And that’s going to be a very interesting dynamic. And it runs the course of the entire season.”
