Leslie Odom Jr. is making a documentary about his return to Hamilton as Aaron Burr, the role he originated.
Broadway Direct announced that the documentary focuses on his 2025 Broadway homecoming, nearly 10 years after he last played Burr on Broadway.
At this time, the film is untitled and does not yet have a distributor or streaming home.
Odom said the documentary includes footage involving his children and members of the newer Hamilton cast. He described seeing his return captured on film as particularly meaningful. He hopes the documentary will go through the film festival circuit, with the possibility of eventually landing on a streamer or in theaters. No specific festival or release date has been announced yet.
Odom returned to the Richard Rodgers Theatre for a limited engagement beginning September 9, 2025, during Hamilton‘s 10th-anniversary celebrations. His engagement ultimately ran through November 23, 2025.
