Degrassi fans, get ready to head back to the halls that shaped a generation.
A brand-new documentary is giving us an inside look at the making of the iconic Canadian teen drama.
The trailer features familiar faces like Amanda Stepto, Drake, Stefan Brogren, Shenae Grimes-Beech, Jake Epstein, Miriam McDonald, and more as they reflect on the legacy of a show that wasn’t afraid to tackle tough topics.
The journey began with Kids of Degrassi Street (1979–1986), which paved the way for Degrassi: The Next Generation.
That era gave us stars like Drake and Nina Dobrev, and cemented the franchise as a cultural touchstone.
The upcoming Degrassi: Whatever It Takes documentary goes behind the scenes of the franchise—exploring raw, groundbreaking, and sometimes controversial moments—while celebrating the impact of a series that made teens everywhere feel seen.
Fans already got a taste of nostalgia back in 2018 when Drake reunited the cast for his “I’m Upset” music video.
So, this new documentary is everything for those of us who want to relive the moments alongside the cast we grew up with.
It’s time to relive the drama, the lessons, and the unforgettable moments that paved the way for the teen shows that followed.
The World Premiere is coming September 13, 2025 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
