Brittany Cartwright is working to clear up what she calls an oversight with California tax authorities.
According to TMZ, The Valley star appears on the California Franchise Tax Board’s semiannual “Top 500 Delinquencies” list, which tracks the state’s largest outstanding personal income tax debts over $100K.
According to the listing, Brittany allegedly owes $463,632.12.
However, Brittany claims the debt is tied to an old issue with her previous tax filings.
TMZ also obtained a letter from Brittany’s CPA, Christopher Fank, who says he has handled the Bravoleb’s taxes for the past five years and can confirm she has paid all taxes owed during that time.
According to the letter, Brittany’s 2019 taxes mistakenly reported “phantom income and tax” under her name.
The CPA says he is now working directly with the California Franchise Tax Board to correct the issue and claims the agency has agreed to place a hold on the account while she submits proof she does not owe the disputed amount.
ICYMI: Brittany has made it her mission to prove the home she once shared with estranged husband Jax Taylor is solely hers.
In every sense of the word.
Brittany stated their mortgage jumped from about $8,000 to nearly $18,000 a month after Jax allegedly rolled his massive tax debt into the house to avoid jail time.
Jax also claimed on The Valley that he had “given” the house to Brittany and paid off the mortgage while he was in rehab. However, Brittany maintained she has been left to deal with the heavy financial fallout, including his unpaid taxes.
