Ashley Tisdale is speaking out about exiting her celebrity mommy group.
The popular Disney Channel actress penned a personal essay for The Cut, detailing her decision to break up with her friend group.
Ashley felt the group dynamics were “too high school” and caused her more stress than anything else.
She admitted to questioning herself and wondering why she wasn’t fitting in.
“This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore,” she said.
Although she “never considered the moms to be bad people — except for maybe one,” she chose to cut ties after the “dynamic stopped being healthy and positive.”
So High School
The mom group includes actresses Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore, and singer Megan Trainor.
While Ashley didn’t explicitly name names, fans have their own theories about what went wrong within the group.
Back during the 2025 LA wildfires, Mandy Moore tragically lost her home. Hilary took Mandy’s family in when they evacuated.
Around the same time, Ashley was posting about her new home.
Many felt the timing was tone deaf, and it’s been speculated as a possible reason for the growing distance among the friends.
Other theories point to one of the biggest divides of all — politics.
After Charlie Kirk’s death, Ashley posted in support of the extremely polarizing political agitator, which may have rubbed her more left leaning friends the wrong way.
Fellow Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano is also following the mess right alongside us.
She posted a reel saying:
“Celeb mom drama is wild to watch unfold from outside the group.”
Of note, Ashley doesn’t follow Hilary Duff or Mandy Moore, nor does Hilary follow Ashley.
However, Mandy Moore continues to follow both.
This is getting messier by the day.
