Ashley Iaconetti is opening up about her jump from Bachelor Nation to Bravo.
In an exclusive with People, Ashley revealed she went into The Real Housewives of Rhode Island without being a full blown Housewives fan.
“I know this is crazy, I haven’t watched much,” she admitted, noting her mom was more tapped into OG RHONY than she was.
But her lack of Bravo knowledge wasn’t what raised eyebrows with her castmates.
Instead, Ashley says the women were “skeptical” of her because she’s not originally from Rhode Island — and being a reality TV vet didn’t earn her any extra points.
“They did not give a crap about the fact that I’d been on reality TV,” she shared.
“They were skeptical of me because I wasn’t from Rhode Island.”
ICYMI: Ashley and her husband Jared Haibon moved to Rhode Island in 2021 to be closer to his family, where they now raise their two kids.
Still, stepping into an already tight-knit group came with its challenges.
“At this age… my friends are all over the country,” she explained.
“It’s not like I ever really would have a place where it’s a hub.”
Between navigating motherhood and a new city, Ashley saw RHORI as an opportunity to find her footing — socially and personally.
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island premieres Thursday, April 2 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
