Cycle one America’s Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry posted a message to Perez Hilton acknowledging their past, with hopes of helping him make peace after being hospitalized for self-harm during a livestream.
Adrienne began, “For years, [Perez Hilton] targeted me and harassed me.” She recalled how the OG celebrity gossip blogger drew NSFW body parts near her mouth on his posts. “He bullied me and got the public to bully me.”
Before being met with criticism that she was trying to “monetize” from Perez’s recent mental health episode, Adrienne made the purpose of her video clear. To let Perez Hilton know that she forgave him.
“I want him to hear me saying that his life has value. I wish him peace. I don’t want anything bad to happen to him.”
“That’s what it takes: people who should hate you saying, ‘Hey, your life has value. Don’t do this.’ At least, that’s what it used to be like for me because I’ve been in some dark places.”
Noting that she tagged Perez Hilton in her message because she wants him to see her video, she told him, “I forgive you. I don’t think you should be hurting yourself. I hope you get better.”
“It took a lot for me to forgive someone who never asked for it. Adrienne, who later starred on My Fair Brady, added, “I think in times when people are down, you have to come out and be the better person. It would be really easy for me to kick him while he’s down.”
“It’s really hard to practice this. Same with Tyra Banks when everyone wanted to dogpile her. No, I’m not doing it.”
“Bro, he’s down. You can’t get any more down. You don’t have to kick him anymore.”
