Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller is weighing in on Dancing With the Stars Season 35, and she thinks the judges are being too harsh!
During an appearance on Virtual Reali-Tea, the iconic dance instructor praised Jenna Dewan and Julia Stiles while questioning their scores.
Abby revealed that she personally told Jenna she would have awarded her a perfect score. “I told Jenna Dewan, ‘I’d have given you a 10,’” Abby recalled. “She said, ‘That means more coming from you than any one of those judges.’”
The Dance Moms alum specifically praised Jenna’s solo section, calling it fabulous.
Jenna wasn’t the only contestant to earn Abby’s approval. She also complimented Julia Stiles’ performance with professional partner Ezra Sosa. “Then, Julia Stiles. She did this arabesque on the prop. It was beautiful,” Abby said.
She also shared a fun detail about the pair’s dynamic, revealing that Julia calls Ezra “Ezra Lee Miller” when he’s being particularly mean.
Abby Lee added that the contestants’ dedication was evident even when the cameras weren’t focused on them, noting that she could see them practicing their steps during commercial breaks.
While Abby was impressed by the performances, she had a much less enthusiastic reaction to the judges’ scoring. Mimicking the motion of holding up a score paddle, Abby dryly offered, “Seven. Eight,” before questioning the low ratings. “For God’s sake. Really?” she wondered.
“I think it’s ridiculous. The scores are way too low,” Abby declared.
