Denise Richards‘ ex Aaron Phypers has been ordered to pay more than $25,000 in sanctions to the actress/model as their contentious divorce continues to play out in court.
The five-figure blow comes amid the estranged couple’s ongoing battle over discovery, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.
Aaron was ordered to pay $10,987 in sanctions after the court found that he failed to properly respond to a series of written questions from Denise’s legal team.
But that wasn’t the only financial hit Aaron took …
Densie filed a request for a protective order on June 26, and the former couple reached a stipulation regarding the request in open court. The judge subsequently ordered Aaron to pay the Wild Things actress an additional $14,775 in sanctions within 10 days. That brings the total amount Aaron has been ordered to pay Denise to $25,762.
The court filing does not explain why the additional sanction was imposed or disclose the terms of the protective-order agreement.
Meanwhile, another legal battle over discovery remains unresolved.
A motion seeking to compel Aaron’s to respond to the RHOBH personality’s first demand for production, a formal request for documents and other evidence, was extended until December 2. Judge Puente ordered the estranged spouses to “meet and confer to resolve discovery disputes” before filing a joint statement with the court. (We need Andy and a camera!)
A separate motion to compel was also pushed to December 2, with the judge again directing the parties to attempt to resolve their discovery disputes before returning to court.
