Denise Richards‘ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, was arrested for spousal abuse at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station following a bitter courtroom clash with Denise.
However, Aaron was all smiles after he was released on $200K bail just hours later, despite claiming to be on the verge of homelessness, as per reports from TMZ.
The arrest:
Aaron was handcuffed inside the courtroom.
He was then seen arguing with sheriffs at the courthouse as they took him into custody. After sheriffs escorted Aaron out of the courtroom, officers returned to retrieve his cellphone.
She testified in court last week that Aaron attempted to destroy her reputation. At one point, Aaron leaked nude photos of the Wild Things actress to a major publication.
“It’s been difficult for my daughters, especially with the naked photos. I’m so embarrassed and shameful as a mom. [My daughter] couldn’t go to church.”
Ok, but where did that $200K come from?!
According to court docs, Denise’s unemployed, estranged husband is “on the brink of getting evicted and becoming homeless.”
Aaron explained, “I am out of money and financially desperate. I am about to be evicted from the residence in which I am living. My utilities (water, power, gas) have all been turned off already.”
The abuser is “being pushed out” of Denise’s Calabasas rental, which she used when filming Denise Richards and Her Wild Things.
Aaron owes half of $120,000 in back rent, while Denise owes the other half, as she’s named on the lease.
Previously, Denise claimed via court docs that she moved out of that residence years ago. But, her ex-hubby argued that because she left her 15 rescue dogs and a “substantial amount of personal belongings” behind, she is still liable for the rent.
