Former Real Housewives of Orange County star, Lydia McLaughlin, claims there is “no scientific evidence” to wearing masks as protection from covid 19.

Lydia shares her covid conspiracy via Instagram Stories:

A Q&A sesh with the magazine editor turned serious quickly when one of her followers wanted to know her thoughts on covid 19, particularly her feelings of the enforcement of masks. “There is no scientific data to support that masks protect you from Covid,” Lydia wrote.

“I believe a masks [sic] main job is to remind us of the pandemic and perpetuate fear. If you feel safer because you are wearing a mask, you should wear a mask! In the same vein, it is your freedom not to wear a mask and breath [sic] fresh air,” reported tvshowsace.com after Lydia’s controversial posts on the ‘gram.

Lydia involves grandma:

“The culture of ‘you’re killing my grandmother if you don’t wear a mask’ is propaganda that is not based on science.”

Facts about masks:

Contrary to what Lydia says, experts insist wearing a mask still protects others from you transmitting COVID-19.
“There is absolutely no doubt that masks work as source control,” preventing people from infecting others, said Dr. Thomas Frieden, chief executive of Resolve to Save Lives, told The New York Times.

In case you missed it:

Lydia isn’t the only RHOC of today or yesterday to make controversial comments regarding coronavirus. Here is the latest from current Orange County housewife, Kelly Dodd.
