Over the years we’ve seen some epic Real Housewives friendships form, and fail, thanks to the various Housewives franchises. Some perfect examples are Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump, Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson, Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks just to name a few but you get the gist.
However, more often than not there are some Real Housewives who were friends and even BFFs long before they joined reality TV.
While many of these friendships have fizzled thanks to fame and reality TV – some remain intact to this day!
Let’s breakdown the Real Housewives BFFs Who Were Friends Before They Joined Reality-TV!
Lisa Vanderpump and Dorit Kemsley – RHOBH

When Dorit joined RHOBH during season 7, she was introduced as Lisa’s good friend – that no one had ever heard of! Truth be told, Lisa and her husband Ken Todd have been friends with Dorit’s hubby Paul ‘PK’ Kemsley for years, ever since their days of living in London. So, when PK married Dorit and the two moved to the 90210 the foursome became very close friends, who enjoyed their “British humor” that is until season 9 of RHOBH rolled around.

Meghan King Edmonds and Heather Dubrow

Heather and hubby Terry have been friends with Jim Edmonds for years. In fact, the RHOC couple was very close to Jim and his ex-wife so when Jim divorced and married Meghan the two welcomed Jim’s new wife with open arms a move that stunned many. Heather even brought Meghan onto RHOC and the rest is history.

Teresa Giudice and Dina Manzo – RHONJ

Teresa and Dina have been besties since their late teens/early 20s and shared their mutual good friend Dolores Catania. The two are so close that Dina is even the god-mother to Teresa’s youngest daughter, Audriana. Despite living on opposite coasts – Dina’s in California, while Tre is in NJ – the two remain good friends and visit each other often.

Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer – RHONY

Ramona and Sonja’s shenanigans go back decades. The two reportedly met back in their early 20s and have been friends ever since.
Current Status: Friends (Most of the Time)
Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson – RHOBH

Lisa and Eileen met back when they were both Daytime Divas on Days of Our Lives, while Eileen still holds the Soap Opera Queen title Rinna has long since moved on. The two joined RHOBH together during season 5 and became fan favorites practically overnight. Even though Eileen left RHOBH after season 7, she and Rinna still remain as close as ever.

Brandi Redmond and Stephanie Hollman – RHOD

Brandi and Stephanie are practically inseparable and they can thank their husbands for their long-standing sister like friendship. The two met through their husbands years before reality TV fame even entered their minds.

Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania – RHONJ

Teresa and Dolores go all the way back to Paterson, NJ, where the two grew up. In fact, Dolores is more like family than a friend to the Giudice/Gorga family. The two old school friends always seem to have each other’s back – through thick and thin.
Current Status: 100% Loyal to each other
Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes – RHOA

Once upon a time, Kim and NeNe were good friends. And their friendship goes back long before they were starring on RHOA. Kim explained on an episode of the RHOA Aftershow, that she and NeNe met at the gym. Kim recalls that she was outside smoking with her trainer while NeNe passed by and made a fun yet snarky comment and the rest is history.

Sonja Morgan and Tinsley Mortimer – RHONY

Long before Sonja and Tinsley were roommates they were friends thanks to the NYC charity scene.
“I’ve known Sonja for about 15 years. She was always someone in New York that I knew. She’s older and sort of a part of the senior boards when I was on a junior board for different charities we all worked on … And she was always someone that I looked up to and was a great friend,” Tinsley explained to The Daily Dish in 2017 about her friendship with Sonja.

Yolanda Hadid and Erika Girardi – RHOBH

According to the RHOBH star’s autobiography Pretty Mess, Erika and her husband Tom Girardi were introduced to David Foster via Robert Shapiro. David then introduced the couple to his then-wife Yolanda. After that Erika and Yolanda became good friends and years later Yolanda brought Erika onto RHOBH.

Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita – RHONJ

Teresa and Jacqueline met through Dina Manzo, who happens to be Jacqueline’s sister-in-law. When Jacqueline moved to NJ, she and Teresa quickly hit it off. Years later they became the Lucy and Ethel of NJ when they joined RHONJ along with Dina and Caroline Manzo.
Current Status: Will NEVER be friends again
Ramona Singer and Dorinda Medley – RHONY
Ramona and Dorinda go wayyy back. The two met at their daughters’ school many years ago and have remained friends ever since. During season 7 of RHONY, Dorinda joined the show and fans got their first look at Dorinda and Ramona’s longstanding friendship.
Current Status: Good Friends who call out each others BS
