Let's Discuss: Kendall Jenner Is the Newest Face of Proactiv, But Does She Actually Use the Products?

Maybe it's Proactiv, maybe it's not!

If you haven’t heard, Kendall Jenner is being “brave” by becoming the face of Proactiv. Remember it’s about helping people with acne, not making money.

The reality star turned supermodel announced that she would be the latest face of Proactiv in early January.

Kendall’s foray into Proactiv spokesmodel was initially announced by her momager, Kris Jenner.

The matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner clan hinted about Kendall’s next move in an odd post on Twitter, where she dubbed her supermodel daughter “brave and vulnerable.”

On January 6th, Kendall was officially announced as the newest face of Proactiv, a job that has previously been filled by the likes of Jessica Simpson, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, P. Diddy, Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan, Alyssa Milano, Katy Perry,  Britney Spears, and Vanessa Williams.

Shockingly Kendall’s latest endeavor didn’t go over well with fans. Firstly, because of the odd way it was hyped up and secondly because fans simply didn’t believe that she actually used Proactiv.

Kendall was previously the face of Estee Lauder and has often raved about solely using their products over the last few years.

In those interviews about her skin routine, Kendall talked about keeping it “simple” and using a gentle cleanser and maybe a face mask if she was feeling “ambitious.” Never did Kendall mention having acne or doing anything to treat it.

More importantly, the photos Kendall and Proactiv are using to showcase her acne are from when she was a pre-teen/young teen. Who didn’t have acne at 13, 14, 15 or 16?

Let’s be real, if Kendall used Proactiv to fix her acne then why wasn’t she the spokesperson for them back then. Just a little food for thought.

And trust me, you’re not the only one scratching your head at Kendall and Proactiv’s partnership. Many fans quickly called BS on Kendall being the face of Proactiv. Plain and simple – people don’t believe that she’s using the products she hawking to millions of people.

In fact, a few fans even pointed out that on Revenge Body Kendall’s longtime dermatologist, Christie Kidd shared how she cured Kendall’s acne. And shockingly it didn’t involve Proactiv. Turns out Kendall’s acne was actually cured by lasers, injectables, and liquid nitrogen.

Despite the criticism, Kendall is trying to turn the tides on her latest gig by getting people to understand how acne affected her life and confidence.

“While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating. It’s something that I’ve dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure. As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being “perfect” is the standard. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post. I’d like to show a younger generation that not everything is perfect. Being insecure about my acne gave me thick skin but I wouldn’t ever wish that feeling upon anyone so after trying countless options, I found something that has been helpful in maintaining clear skin for me. It’s been a long journey but I’m excited for where my skin is now. I didn’t think I’d see the day where I would feel confident posting a makeup-free picture. My goal is to open up a dialogue around skin positivity,” Kendall explained in a post on Instagram.

No word on if Kendall can sway public opinion on her latest endeavor but only time will tell.

Lastly, years ago the Biebs was paid $3 million for a two-year contract with Proactiv and it’s probably safe to assume that Kendall inked a similar, if not a more lucrative deal.

So, Let’s Discuss Kendall becoming the latest Proactiv spokesperson. Sound off below!
